Finally – it is the week of your wedding! While you are surely getting excited for the big day, your head might be swirling with things-to-do. Use this list to help you stay on track of the logistics as you prepare for the celebration.
Get the Final HeadCount
First, if there is anyone that hasn’t RSVP’d, make sure you get in touch to get their answer. Once you have the final number of guests, get the number to your caterer and any other vendor who needs it.
Finalize the Seating Chart
Once you have the final guest list, you’ll be able to set the seating chart in stone. Finalize these details, and give the seating chart information to anyone who will need it.
Confirm All Vendors
Early in the week, get in touch with all of your vendors to confirm. Make sure they have the correct arrival time and location.
Prepare Final Vendor Payments
Go through your contracts to confirm the date that you need to deliver the final payments by. Take care of any payments that you can right now. If you (or a designated person) will be delivering checks the day of, make sure they are signed and ready to go. This is also a good time to get any cash tips you’ll be giving out ready in envelopes.
Ensure The Rehearsal Dinner is Ready
Whether you or a family member is planning the rehearsal dinner, make sure the venue is all set and the details are finalized.
Meet with Your Planner or Coordinator
You will want to make sure everything is in order with your planner or day-of coordinator for the big day! Check-in with them to see if there are any other last-minute tasks that you need to take care of this week.
Brief Everyone on Day-Of Duties
Check-in with everyone who has a certain role or responsibility on the day-of – such as bridesmaids and groomsmen, parents of the couple, and family members tasked with certain responsibilities – to make sure they know what they need to do on the big day.
Check the Weather
You’ll start getting a more realistic idea of how Mother Nature will be acting the week of your wedding. If it looks like rain or harsher weather is a possibility, start thinking about whether you’ll need your back-up plan (like a tent or indoor space).
Go Through Your Inbox, Texts, and Voicemails
By now you’ve hired all your vendors for the day, so you have a lot of people with potential last-minute questions. Be sure to pay attention to all forms of communication throughout the week to make sure you haven’t left any questions unanswered.
Order Breakfast and Snacks for Getting Ready
This is not the day to skip out on breakfast! Make sure breakfast and snack orders are placed so that all members of the wedding party can stay satisfied and energized.
Organize and Pack Decor and Other Items
If you have any decor or miscellaneous items that you (or a trusted person) are bringing to the venue, make sure they are properly packed and ready to go. If someone else will be transporting them over, make sure you coordinate a time for them to pick them up. Also, check-in with your venue to see if you can drop things off a day or a few days before. That way, you won’t have to be dealing with hauling boxes on your big day.
Designate Someone to Pack Up Personal Items After
There will probably be decor pieces and other items that you’ll want to take home after the reception – but it’s likely that neither of you will want to deal with it. Designate a trusted person to pack up these items after the reception so that you can get them when it is convenient. Give them a box or bags to make the job easy, as well as a list. Keep in mind that, while people generally don’t bring gifts to the reception anymore, some people may do so. You’ll need your designated person to take care of those, as well.
Hand Off the Marriage License to the Officiant
If you haven’t already, make sure to obtain your marriage license. Once you have it, hand it off to your officiant to sign and file.
Check-in with People Giving Toasts
Talk to everyone who you are expecting to give a toast to make sure they are prepared. Let them know of any time limits they should stay within.
Submit Your Shot List
If you haven’t already, make sure your photographer has your final shot list for the day. That way, they can easily capture every moment that you want! Make sure the photographer also knows the final details of the day, like the schedule.

Heading off to your honeymoon within a few days of your wedding? Then don’t put packing off. Pack now so that you can relax the days after your wedding.
